You wouldn't block it outright. You would use the dagger to alter the direction of the incoming weapon and twist your body away from it.

You want the enemy to miss, use a blind spell/skill. You want to block, use a block skill.
You want spells to fail randomly, GTFO. That would be very, very annoying and I don't think most casters would be happy at all with that.

Game design tip 1o1: Adding random chance is actually a method to "decrease the gap" between good players and bad ones. I really dont want to see the skillgap in guild wars lowered any more then it already is.

First, this is a fantasy -game-, by definition it isn't "realistic"...magic isn't "realistic"...neither is whipping around giant swords with one hand, surviving being beaten on by 10 things because "You used Dolyak Signet", a "stance" letting you regenerate, etc.
Second, that would likely destroy Guild Wars and drive off half the playerbase. Really, that wouldn't be "fun". "Sorry we all died, I got bad luck and all my heals failed" "Sorry I couldn't nuke, my Savannah Heat failed" "Sorry I couldn't kill the guy, I kept missing" ....that doesn't sound like fun to me, where success is based on luck rather than skill.
If I want that I'll go play the lottery or something.

To the OP: why would you want something to make the game worse? Aren't you happy you can always almost hit? Seriously If you want this feature play Elder Scrolls Morrowind.

Yet another example of people HATING a change to a game that will not benefit them.
"Zomg I can't use my wiki-downloaded build because it requires perfect timing and every hit to find its mark...now whatever will I do?!?!?!"

No, it's people hating a change to the game that adds very little other than annoyance.
Especially in PvP, skill should be the deciding factor than luck; a change like this is totally the opposite.
... and no, all that crap about realism holds no water. At least untill we stop pulling Meteors from the heavens. Welcome to a game.

Are you the type of carebears who get owned in RA and flame others for using "wiki builds" ?
Fail more.

I don't see how its THAT bad of an idea. It would kinda add suspense. How good would you feel if you are about to die, only to have the dude miss with his sword and you get away? Who said that it would have to be a constantly occuring thing? If it's a small chance, it wouldn't be too bad. And if you can't handle such a minor annoyance such as missing, well, you got problems.

But how would you feel if you were the warrior who couldn't kill somebody just because they got lucky?
You got to remember the PvP side of things. Stuff that is good for you will be bad for your opponent.

No. It will ONLY occur due to a skill or a condition - blind makes you miss most of the time (feels like a lot more than it says in description) block skills give a chance to block, some skills like Shadow Form simply make all attacks automatically miss, some skills like Ghostly Weapon make a weapon unconditionally overwrite blocking skills...

A little off topic, but when you Back Breaker a monk they should not be able to get up for a few minutes.

I can understand why the OP would be interested in this, but Ministry of Peace really hit the nail on the head. AL already accounts for this to a degree.
/notsigned, but thanks for the idea.
As a side note, you can't really expect realism from a game that allows you to have Varesh, Rurik, and a Destroyer as "minipets".
